![]() ‘And that’s not all,’ said William, who then told the team about his conversation with Miles Faulkner at the Fitzmolean soon after the unveiling of the Rubens painting, Christ’s Descent from the Cross. ‘Do you know what makes it worse?’ said the commander. When the card was passed around the table the smiles turned to frowns, and the recently acquired gifts were quickly returned to the hamper. His expression revealed nothing, although the unsigned note could not have been clearer. Hawksby ripped the envelope open and extracted a hand- written card. It was addressed to Commander Hawksby QPM, and marked Personal. He was about to sit back down when he spotted a small envelope. ![]() William rummaged around in the hamper until he came across a bottle of olive oil from Umbria that he knew Beth would appreciate. ‘And finally, DC Warwick,’ said the commander. Jackie took her time removing some of the packing straw before she discovered a jar of foie gras, a luxury way beyond her pay grade. ‘Your turn, DC Roycroft,’ he added, as he rolled one of the Cuban cigars between his fingers. ‘And also knows our weaknesses,’ said the commander, as he took out a box of Montecristo cigars and placed them on the table in front of him. ‘Clearly someone appreciates us,’ said DCI Lamont, re- moving a bottle of Scotch from the top of the basket, delighted to find it was Black Label. William stood up, unfastened the two leather straps, and lifted the lid of the huge wicker basket that was packed with what his father would have called ‘goodies’. ‘You’d better open it, DC Warwick,’ said the Hawk, lean- ing back in his chair. ‘Who’s it addressed to?’ asked the commander. The four of them sat around the table staring at the hamper. You too can find out why by reading ‘ Hidden in Plain Sight ‘.Enjoy reading this free chapter from Hidden in Plain Sight: And I think I can guess why is the title of 3rd book in the series so. I’m waiting eagerly for the 3rd part, ‘ Turn a Blind Eye ‘ which will be releasing of April 1st 2021. The bookend on some very steep cliffhanger and makes this series even more interesting. Along with the thrill to uncover the mystery and mastery of the Druglord, there are several emotional moments shared between Beth and William, William and his father and Grace and her father which made this book more appealing and applauding. The book is filled with twist and turns, some of which are not anticipated. How William and team manage to do this is a trip to go on with. But William has some plan to prove Faulkner as Guilty. Our Con from the first book, Faulkner is about to take revenge on his wife and wants her to end up penniless after getting divorced with Faulkner. ![]() ![]() He is like a shadow in the Darkness but William and the team devise a clever plan to hunt him down and close shut his slaughter as well. William along with his team has been tasked to track down a Drug Lord whose identity has been totally unknown but goes by the street name of Viper. But this time around William is been promoted as Detective Sergeant. This book is in continuation with the adventures of the first part, Nothing Ventured. So do read that first to get along with this and the upcoming parts. The book is in continuum with Nothing Ventured, First part of William Warwick Series. Let me start the review of this book by saying that this isn’t a standalone novel, even though the publisher/author have mentioned it in the starting.
